PASTOR'S DESK

Guard Your Heart...

Recently, one of my son's in the lord purchased some furniture from a local department store. When the delivery men came with the furniture, I asked them to place it in the storeroom. As I signed the invoice, one of the delivery men asked if I would like to purchase a bar or any of the other items that he had. He told me that he could allow me to have them for a very reasonable price...even less than I would have paid in the store. He indicated, in a very subtle way, that the items were stolen. I knew that making the purchase was wrong, however, for a split second I entertained the idea of purchasing some of the items.

NOTE: We must always be aware and guard our hearts from those things that are evil...they will lead us to sin.Our Adversary, the Devil, is always looking for ways to get our minds off of the things of God. He presents opportunities and suggests ideas that would cause us to sin. We must always be vigilant and sober minded. It is our job to bring every though to the obedience of Christ.
Guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life.
